Perhaps it is somewhat of a cliche, but I have always loved going out and composing sunset images.
With these, I think there is something very charming about the juxtaposition of the buttery and colourful cloudy skies against the rigid and structured shadows of the buildings. They come together: the free-form shapes of the clouds, and the rigid uniform lines of the buildings to create a much more appealing composition than if there were to be a prominence of just one over the other.
I enjoy the idea that this implies; in the World we live in today, it is important that both Nature and Humankind have their place, that - as opposed to the impression given by a study of decay - there can be a pleasant unity between Us and Nature, so long as respect is maintained.

I thought it prudent to suggest with these images situations where that desired harmonious relationship can be felt - in suburban environments, indeed even within a city as vast as London, we remain committed to maintaining areas of greenery; simply on someone's front porch here, but it is clear that even these little areas offer us some benefit, some mindful impact to the soul.
There is also lots to be said for our interest in the growing and cultivation of plants: flowers, and gardens that please the eye, which makes it abundantly clear the beauty of the Natural World that so many of us yearn for.
Finally, time spent in the 'Great Outdoors' is often another luxury that, perhaps, while some may overlook, is something that I believe is tremendously good for the soul and a sound mind - this speaking from someone who has grown up in the City all his life, the idea of a break from the concrete jungle and an escape is always strong in my mind.
